Songbird Games
Exactly — Privacy Policy
Effective 29 October 2026
Exactly is a number puzzle game for Android made by Songbird Games, based in Northern Ireland (UK). This policy explains what information the game uses, why, and the choices you have. The short version: the game has no accounts of its own and keeps your progress on your device. If you use Google Play Games, your progress and achievements are also saved to your Google account. Otherwise, the only data that leaves your device is what Google's advertising and payment services need, usage statistics about how the game is played (if you allow them), and anything you choose to send us yourself. All of this is described below.
Information stored on your device
To play, Exactly saves the following only on your device:
- your puzzle progress: levels and daily puzzles solved, best moves and stars, trophies;
- your lives and when the next one is due;
- your settings (theme, music, sound effects, vibration, daily reminder) and which tips you have seen;
- whether you have bought "Remove ads";
- a short technical log of recent errors and game events (such as which screens you opened), used only if you send us feedback (see below).
We do not receive this information, and the game has no account of its own. Uninstalling the game, or clearing its storage in Android settings, deletes it from your device (see Google Play Games below for the copy saved to your Google account).
Google Play Games (achievements and cloud save)
On Android, Exactly uses Google Play Games Services. If you have a Play Games profile, Google signs you in automatically when the game starts; you can also sign in from Settings. When you are signed in:
- the achievements you earn are recorded in your Play Games profile;
- the game's save file (your puzzle progress, achievements and stats, as listed above; your settings stay on the device) is saved to your Google account through Play Games Saved Games, so it can be restored on a new device or after reinstalling. It is stored by Google in a private area of your Google Drive that only this game can use.
Songbird Games does not run its own servers and does not receive your Play Games profile, achievements or saved progress. Google handles this information under Google's Privacy Policy. If you don't want to use Play Games, you can decline to sign in and the game works the same, with progress kept only on your device. You can manage or delete your Play Games profile and its game data in the Google Play Games app or your Google account settings.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Exactly is free and shows ads through Google AdMob: an ad between some puzzles, and an optional video you can choose to watch for an extra life. To deliver and measure ads, and to prevent fraud, Google may collect information from your device, such as its advertising ID, IP address, approximate location, device and app information, and how you interact with ads. Songbird Games does not receive this information in a form that identifies you.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, the game asks for your consent through Google's consent message the first time it starts. If you agree, ads may be personalised; if you don't, Google shows non-personalised ads, which still use some data for purposes such as frequency capping, fraud prevention and measurement. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy choices in the game. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings.
How Google uses this information is explained at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and in Google's Privacy Policy.
Usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase)
To learn how the game is played and where it can be improved (for example, which puzzles are too hard, whether people finish the daily puzzle, or where they stop playing), Exactly sends usage statistics to Google Analytics for Firebase. These include game events such as puzzles started and finished (with the number of moves, stars, undos and time taken), screens opened, lives running out, ads shown, purchases, your game settings, and whether you have removed ads or signed in to Play Games, together with basic device information (model, Android version, country derived from your IP address) and a random app-instance identifier that Firebase creates. They do not include your name, email address or advertising ID, and we do not use them to show you ads or to identify you.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, usage statistics are only collected if you agreed to storing information on your device and to measurement in Google's consent message (see Advertising above); you can change that in Settings → Privacy choices. Anyone can turn them off at any time in Settings → Usage stats. Google processes this data for us under the Firebase data processing terms; it is kept for 14 months and then deleted.
Purchases (Google Play)
"Remove ads" is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Google Play. Google processes your payment under its own terms and privacy policy; Songbird Games never sees your payment details. The game receives only a confirmation that the purchase was made, so it can switch off ads and restore the purchase if you reinstall.
Sending us feedback
Settings → Send feedback opens your email app with a message to us that already includes some details to help us fix problems: the game version, your device model and Android version, your theme settings, how many stars and puzzles you have, whether you are signed in to Play Games, and the short technical log described above. Nothing is sent unless you send the email yourself, and you can read, change or delete any of it first. We use what you send only to reply to you and to fix problems, keep it in our mailbox for as long as it's useful, and will delete it if you ask.
Sharing your daily result
If you tap Share, the game prepares a short text (the date, difficulty, stars and number of moves, and a link to the game's web page or to that day's puzzle on our website) and opens your device's share menu or copies it to your clipboard. Nothing is sent unless you choose where to share it. The link to the day's puzzle includes your number of moves, so whoever opens it can try to match or beat it, and that it was shared from the Android game, which our website counts as a plain total (see the website's privacy note).
Daily reminder (notifications)
If you turn on the daily reminder (the game offers it after your first daily puzzle, and it's always in Settings → Daily reminder), Android asks whether Exactly may send you notifications. The reminder is scheduled on your device for the time you pick, and only appears on days you haven't solved the daily puzzle yet. No information is sent to us or anyone else to make it work. You can turn it off in the game's Settings, or block the game's notifications in your Android settings, at any time. If you allow usage statistics (above), they include whether the reminder is on and the hour you chose.
What we don't do
- We don't track you across other apps or websites, and the usage statistics above are never used for advertising.
- We don't sell your personal information.
- We don't ask for your name, email address, contacts, photos or precise location. (If you sign in to Google Play Games, Google shows your Play Games profile name in its own screens; the game doesn't store it. If you email us, we see your email address, as with any email.)
Children
Exactly is a general-audience puzzle game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will help.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR in the EU and the UK, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent. Because we hold almost no personal data about you ourselves (only emails you choose to send us), most of these are exercised through the in-game Privacy choices, your Android settings, your Google Play Games settings, or directly with Google. You can also contact us at the address below. You may also complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office, or, if you are in the EU, to your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted in the game's release notes.
